Equality and Diversity Policy
Objective. To make boating an activity that is genuinely open to anyone who wishes to take part. To provide the framework for everyone to enjoy the sport, in whatever capacity and to whatever level the individual desires.
Policy Statement. Sunny Side Sailing is committed to the principle of equality of opportunity and aims to ensure that all present and potential participants, instructors, volunteers and employees are treated fairly and on an equal basis, irrespective of sex, age, disability, race, religion or belief, sexual orientation, pregnancy and maternity, marriage and civil partnership, gender reassignment or social status.
Implementation. Our commitment:
• Every participant, instructor, volunteer and employee is entitled to an environment which promotes dignity and respect to all.
• No form of intimidation bullying or harassment will be tolerated.
• The commitment to diversity and equality in the workplace is good management practice and makes sound business sense.
• Breaches of our diversity and equality policy will be regarded as misconduct and could lead to disciplinary proceedings.
• The policy will be monitored and reviewed annually.
Reasonable Adjustments. We are committed to making reasonable adjustments to accommodate medical conditions, allergies, and disabilities to ensure staff and client safety and comfort. However, we reserve the right to assess each case individually and may be unable to confirm a booking if the required adjustments are beyond what we can reasonably manage within the scope of our operations. If clients have specific needs, they are asked to contact us prior to booking to discuss how we can best support them.
